We are a local, family-owned and operated independent auto care facility that opened in 1996 at this current location. When we were planning just how we were going to go about establishing our new Elgin mechanic shop, it became time to come up with a name. We wrote down a list of names 3 pages long. After many long discussions, we decided none of the names were suitable. Finally, we came up with K and S because of the tool manufacturer SK tools. To be ‘us’, we decided to swap the K and S and add Autocare. Later, we became a premier NAPA AutoCare Center in Elgin. We can serve you better by incorporating new advances in technology for mechanics, continuing education and training for our technicians, and new newest equipment. Our mechanics enjoy serving their friends and neighbors in Elgin, and have combined experience of over 65 years in the industry. We are like your vehicle’s medical team, taking preventive measures to avoid potentially expensive repairs in the future and save you money on auto repair.
